About Safehaus.
Most landlords don’t find the problem until it’s already expensive.
I'm Keith — a Melbourne-based property operator responsible for a 55+ property rental portfolio, and the person who built Safehaus because the service I needed didn't exist.
Why I built this.
When Victoria's new rental and energy standards were introduced, I reviewed my own properties expecting minor upgrades.
Instead, I found widespread compliance gaps — the kind that don't show up in standard inspections, but surface later at lease renewal, after tenant complaints, or when a system fails mid-tenancy.
That's when decisions become urgent. And expensive.
The bigger problem wasn't the gaps themselves. It was that every "assessment" I could find was run by a trades business. The person doing the inspection had a financial reason to find work.
That's not independent advice — it's a sales funnel with an inspection at the front.
Safehaus was built to do the one thing nobody else was doing: give landlords a clear, documented, conflict-free picture of what their property actually needs — before the decision is forced on them.
Background.
My career has covered accounting and audit training, residential real estate, and operating multiple businesses with 30+ staff. I hold a Certificate IV in Property Services.
That combination means I know how to assess systematically, document findings properly, and understand what landlords are actually managing — not just what the legislation says.
What Safehaus does.
