I built Safehaus because the service I needed didn’t exist.

I’m Keith — a Melbourne property investor and renovator, and a chartered accountant who spent years as an auditor: work that is, at its core, finding the weak points everyone else has signed off on. I’ve renovated enough homes to know where they’re soft, and bought enough properties under pressure to know what gets missed. Safehaus puts that same trained eye to two jobs: physical security for homes, and rental compliance for property owners — found, fixed and documented.

Property & renovation experience

Years spent buying, renovating and holding property — real homes, real costs, and a working knowledge of where a house is weak, inside and out.

Police-checked & fully insured

Every check and report carried out personally by Keith — police-checked, with Professional Indemnity and Public Liability insurance. Licensed partners handle the regulated trades.

Chartered Accountant & former auditor

Audit is the craft of finding the weak points others have already signed off on — in a ledger, a rental, or the back door of a house.

Rental compliance
When Victoria’s rental and energy standards changed, I reviewed my own properties expecting minor upgrades. Instead, I found gaps that could become urgent at lease renewal, before advertising, after tenant requests, or when a system fails.
From finding to fixing
Every owner who saw the gaps asked the same question next: “so who actually fixes this?” Agents don’t need another report — they need work orders closed. So Safehaus does the fixes too: minimum-standards items at published fixed prices, done in one visit, with licensed partners for the regulated work — always from your agent’s findings or your own, never from our own reports.
Home security
The same pattern shows up in family homes. Break-ins keep climbing across Melbourne, and what people get sold is alarms and cameras — when the real problem is the simple physical gaps that let someone in to begin with: doors, windows, side gates, garages and dark corners. A Safehaus security check walks your home the way a burglar would, then closes the gaps that matter.
Built from buying experience
I’ve purchased investment properties under pressure — competing buyers, short timelines, agent urgency and no quick way to understand what rental-readiness issues may cost after settlement. That experience shaped the pre-purchase Safehaus Report.
How the work is done
Every job is systematic, practical and photo-documented — ranked risks, fixed prices agreed before work starts, and the evidence written down so you keep it. Checks and reports are done personally by Keith; gas, electrical and air-conditioning work runs through licensed partners, scheduled and documented under one job.

What Safehaus is

Founder-run — Keith does the checks and reports personally, and coordinates licensed partners for the regulated work.
Fixed-price fixes for minimum standards and home security — one visit, photos and certificates filed.
Built from real experience buying, renovating and holding property.
Independent where it counts: where Safehaus writes a report, we never quote on or perform the work that report identifies.

What Safehaus isn’t

×
Not a certifier — gas and electrical certificates come from the licensed trades who perform those checks. We schedule them and file them; we don’t issue them.
×
Not a building inspection.
×
Not a pressure sell — you get the read and the price first; what happens next is your call.

Property experience. Financial discipline. A trained eye for weak points.

Safehaus exists to help property owners and homeowners see what matters — and fix it — before it becomes urgent, expensive or harder to manage.
